Sibiu was a step into the gorgeous unknown: a little gem of a city in the middle of Romania. I had come to give a reading in the Humanitas Bookstore, hosted by the poet Radu Vancu. A very warm reception in the cellar of the bookstore was rounded off by great chats in a pub just off the main town square with poets of the Zona nouă.
